弘法大師御野宿所 十夜ヶ橋 永徳寺

御詠歌 :
ゆきなやむ 浮き世の人を渡さずば 一夜も十夜の 橋と思ほゆ
平成30年（2018）7月7日、西日本豪雨により当山は境内が水没し、本堂・納経所ともに約1.6mの床上浸水被害を受けました。一時は御朱印対応も休止となり、授与品や設備にも甚大な影響が及びました。
その後、多くの方々からのご支援とご寄進により境内の再整備が進められ、仮本堂（奉賛殿）は令和2年（2020）春に水害に強い構造で再建。令和6年（2024）年5月には新本堂が落慶し、中二階を備えた多目的空間として生まれ変わりました。
On July 7, 2018 (Heisei 30), our temple grounds were submerged due to the heavy rain disaster that struck western Japan. Both the main hall and the temple office suffered severe damage, with floodwaters reaching approximately 1.6 meters above floor level. For a time, we had to suspend the issuance of temple stamps (goshuin), and our ritual items and facilities were also greatly affected. Thanks to the generous support and donations from many people, we were able to carry out restoration work throughout the temple grounds. In the spring of 2020 (Reiwa 2), a temporary main hall (Hōsanden) was rebuilt with a flood-resistant structure. In May 2024 (Reiwa 6), the new main hall was finally completed, reborn as a multi-purpose space equipped with a mezzanine level.
現在は通常通り参拝・納経が可能で、弘法大師が一夜を明かしたと伝わる「野宿の地」も残り、歴史を今に伝えています。
Now, it is possible to worship at the temple as before, and temple stamps (goshuin) are also available.
十夜ヶ橋の縁起
今を去ること一千二百有余年の昔、弘法大師(以下、お大師様)は衆生済度大願のため四国の各地を行脚し給い、当大洲地方をも御巡錫になりました。そして当時、宿も民家も近辺には無く、ご修行中の身であったため、橋の下で一晩お休みになられました。その時お大師様は『ゆき悩む浮世の人を渡さずば 一夜も十夜の橋と思ほゆ』という詩を詠まれました。
この詩の『ゆき悩む浮世の人』というのは、迷い苦しみの世界にいる人々が生きることに悩み、悟りを得ることも出来ずにいるということです。『渡さずば』は、悟りの世界に導き、人々が心安らかな日々を過ごすためには自分に何が出来るのだろうかという意味です。『一夜も十夜の橋と思ほゆ』とは、衆生済度の為に真言密教の教えを弘めるにはどのようにすればいいのだろうかと考えていると、一晩が十日ほども感じた長い長い夜であったと詠まれたのです。
大洲の人々はこの詩を通じて、私たちことを想ってくださったお大師様に感謝して、橋の下に横になって休まれているお大師様をお祀りし、今に至っているのです。
お遍路さんが橋の上を通る時、杖をつかないという風習はお大師様を「上から杖でつかない、杖の音で起こさない」という思いから起こったものです。
The History of Toyogahashi: Spot under the bridge where Kobo-Daishi slept*

Going back about 1,200 years ago from now, when the Daishi just arrived this area during the tour to preach in Shikoku, because of the sunset, he decided to sleep outside under the bridge covered with rammed earth over the stream. On that night, he was lost in thought of leading the masses on the path of enlightenment (Buddhism), "I would like to help those who are worried about living" and "I would like to lead to Sokushin Jobutsu (becoming Buddha in this life)." It was only one night. However, he felt like it was ten nights, and he read that "Yukinayamu, Ukiyono Hitowo, Watasazuba, Hitoyomo Toyono, Hashito Omoyu." Because of this, it seems that the bridge has been named Toyogahashi.
